To look at the whole view of the 1971 Watergate transcripts visit here. This first image below is of an unfiltered/unaltered world cloud of transcripts from April to October of 1971. On initial glance of the graph below, notice that the words “president,” “ehrlichman,” “haldeman,” “unintelligible,” and “uh” are larger than the other words. This could mean that in the transcripts, these people are talking or they are being talked about. Two words mean that the words that were spoken were unintelligible to the transcriber and thus written down as such and the “uh” is a word that was spoken during these conversations many times. As you can see from this initial view, Haldeman is mentioned frequently from all of June and Hunt from November of 1972. When looking at the transcripts, this is because there were conversations with Nixon and Haldeman and Nixon and Hunt. In the Bubblelines visualization below, you can see the frequency of a particular word throughout the corpus. The bigger the circle, the most frequent it is used in the transcripts. Crowdsourced Knowledge: How to Read a Wikipedia Article
Growing up in the early 2000s, I was taught that Wikipedia was not a credible source to be used independently in my papers. I had to use scholarly articles, papers, books, etc. Now in 2018, Wikipedia probably still has that stigma but I think that it is becoming more accepted if at least a reference while conducting scholarly research. When a person living in the past 17 years, wants to find out more information about a topic, say Digital Humanities they Google it. One of the top five results will be a Wikipedia article. Comparing Three Types of Digital Tools
Voyant can be useful to understand how many particular words or phrases were uttered. Kepler_gl can help with trying to understand not only how many interviews were conducted but where. Palladio can offer the relationship between the persons involved and where. All three types of digital tools discovered can offer a new way of interpreting the Slave Narratives. I learned with the Voyant tool that certain words were used more often than others. Then I could take those list of words and input it into the Kepler_gl tool to find out where on a map. Palladio
With Palladio, the user was able to see a clearer picture of the relationships between two types of topics at a time. A limitation of Palladio and any network visualization is that there are ways of only comparing two topics and not more than two otherwise it gets harder to analyze. Based on the readings this is expected because to have more than two would be incomprehensible, especially with a large data set for the activity. For the activity we uploaded an Excel spreadsheet that was already parsed correctly. Then we had a chance to upload tables based on the input data and then filter what we wanted based on…

Mapping with kepler.gl
Kepler.gl is a mapping software that lets the user import data and filter based on what they wish to see. I had a decent experience using this tool. The user needs to make sure that any data that they have is put into the correct format and in an Excel spreadsheet. Then upload the data, add layers to filter by, add filters and play around with the software. With this tool one is able to see the relationships of the topics based on where they were located and how often that city was mentioned. Here are some photos of the activity that I completed:

Voyant Tools 2.0 Review and General Guide
Working with the Voyant tool was fairly simple. I imported data from an Excel spreadsheet and then analyzed it based on what I wished to filter on. I did feel limited in what I could use the tool for though. I wanted more ways of analyzing the data besides a somewhat static way of looking at the text. But this type of modeling did its job by providing me with text analysis of what I imported. I was able to discover how many times a word was used or some basic level of relationship analysis.
