Introduction to HIST 689

Hello,

My name is Grace May and this is my third class within the Digital Public Humanities certificate at George Mason University. I’ve learned so far about how to build a website in Omeka and how to do a textual analysis on a historical subject using Voyant.

What I hope to learn from this class is to perhaps not only learn history but also how to teach it and how to present it in a consumable format. This course is looking at it through the digital realm so I will want to learn how to present it through that than some of the more traditional methods.

I hope to take from this course a sense of understanding about how to present historical topics to the public in a way that they will better learn and want to learn more.
